1. Disconnect Battery 2. Lift and secure bike 3. Remove brake-side floorboard 4. Remove exhaust. 5. Remove rear fender 6. Remove front pulley cover 7. Remove wheel, pulley, and brake assembly simultaneously. Now remove front pulley from transmission. (Keep up with the stock nut and lock washer; these will be used during assembly) 8. Remove Passenger pegs; now remove the plastic covers in the frame that cover the pivot tube bolts. 9. Remove the stock shock bolts ( keep for re-assembly) 10. Remove the pivot tube bolts. 11. Remove the stock swingarmb12. Install “new” belt at this time. 13. Install supplied pivot tube, and bearings in RC swingarm. 14. Install shock bolt with red loctite in RC swingarm. (Do not tighten bolt at this time) 15. Insert supplied pivot bolts with red loctite through frame and supplied bushings into the RC swingarm. (Right side bushing has flats) 16. Torque shock and pivot bolts to factory specs. 17. Install belt adjustment bolts and single side keys into swingarm.

Mount the shock as you would your stock shock per your authorized shop manual (with the rebound adjustment at the bottom) noting the following: n As you mount the shock, feed the Remote Adjustable Pre-Load adjuster towards the rear (see figure 2) and to the right side of the swingarm (see figure 3) . n Do not loosen or attempt to rotate the line between the shock and the adjuster. n Make sure the shock rebound adjustment is toward the rear and facing the right side of the motorcycle and the nitrogen pressure valve is facing down. n Tighten shock bolts to the proper torque specifications (refer to your manual). n Locate the EXUP valve servo mounting bracket, specifically the two bolts used to secure it to the frame (see figure 4) . They below the seat on the right hand side of the motorcycle. n Now either mount the adjuster to the supplied mounting bracket using the supplied M6-1.0X8mm SHCS fasteners and torque them to 80-90 in/lbs (9-10 N-m), then mount the bracket and adjuster to the bike using two EXUP valve servo mounting bolts (as shown in figure 5) – or – mount the adjuster bracket to the frame using those two bolts, then mount the adjuster to the bracket (may require removal of exhaust stay). n Using the supplied zip-ties, secure the hydraulic line away from any moving parts or heat sources.

INSTALLATION 1. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the swingarm surface, pivot bolt, and nut. 2. Place the larger left-side pivot cover (3) over the pivot nut. Position the set screw (4) at the bottom of the cover. Tighten set screw to 16 in-lbs (1.8 Nm) . 3. Remove adhesive backing from and apply the left-side trimplate to the swingarm. Apply pressure to the trimplate on the swingarm for one minute. 4. Remove adhesive backing from and apply an emblem to the center of the pivot cover. Apply pressure to the emblem for one minute. 5. Recommended Parts and Supplies 1. Sawzall or comparable cutting tool. 2. Cut-off tool or jigsaw. 3. Shop or repair manual 4. Shop supplies, (loctite-red and blue, anti-seize, etc.) 5. Assorted hand tools. 6. 4-1/2″ grinder. 7. Drive pulley seal HD part # 11354K (qty.1) 8. Copper cap locking plate HD part # 35451-01K (qty.1) (The seal and locking plate can be re-used if not damaged during removal) Stock component removal To install the 240 kit, it will be necessary to raise the motorcycle off the ground on a suitable lift. WARNING – Be sure to center the motorcycle on the lift so that it does not fall over when you raise it up or when you are working on it. Installation of the 240 kit begins with the disassembly and removal of the rear end of the bike. Start with the simplest and most obvious components. For detailed information on removal of these parts, consult your factory manual. 1. Remove rear wheel assembly and brake. 2. Remove swingarm. 3. Cut brake tab on swingarm (as pictured). 4 4. Clean up casting mark on inside of swingarm in pulley area (as pictured). 5 5. Remove and replace right side swingarm mount with mount included in kit. 6. Install swingarm with new supplied pivot shaft. 7. Install stock spacer on left side of shaft, use supplied stepped spacer between stock spacer and swingarm. (Small step toward bearing). 8. Remove front pulley, and disassemble. 9. Test fit ½” allen bolts in hub before removal. Some models require drilling for bolts to fit. If necessary, use ½” bit and drill before removing, minimal material will be removed. Take caution not to drill too deep and hit case. 6 10. Install supplied adapter on the back to space pulley out. (Use loctite on bolts, and assemble as pictured).

Step 1: Identify the key components that complete our front brake line kit: You should have three (3) hoses, one (1) double banjo bolt, and two (2) single banjo bolts There are also a total of nine (9) washers and (3) brass conic inversors. Seven (7) washers and two (2) inversors will be used; the rest are spares. If you have purchased a rear kit as well, locate the following additional pieces: One (1) hose with bracket and c-clip attached, one (1) single banjo bolt, two (2) brass inversors and three (3) washers. You will use one (1) “olive” conic inversor and two (2) washers, the rest are spares. Step 2: To ensure no paint damage from a brake fluid spill, completely cover the front end of the bike. This process can be messy, and brake fluid WILL drip! Step 3: After drying out the OEM brake system, uninstall stock hoses. On the front brake line kit, we are replacing three hoses and their respective blocks (see pictures 1-2 for blocks) . For the rear, we are replacing one hose from the master cylinder to the ABS hard line. Take note of how the stock system was routed, in case you need to reinstall it. Step 4: Locate Line A – This will travel from the master cylinder to the ABS Junction. (See picture 3) You will use a single banjo bolt and two washers at the master cylinder, and an “olive” inversor to thread female end to hard pipe for incoming ABS (right side). * We have replaced the block at the upper triple clamp with a c-clip; please use your stock bolt to thread this in. (See picture 4) Locate Line B – This will travel from the ABS Junction to the right caliper. First, thread the female end to the hard pipe for outgoing ABS (left side). There will be a bolt from the OEM blocks at ABS Junction; please use this to thread c-clips into frame as shown in picture 5 . There is another bolt/OEM block located at the lower triple clamp; please use this to thread the c-clip in as seen in picture 6. Locate Line C – This will cross over the front fender using OEM holders, from right caliper to left caliper. Thread caliper banjos from Line B and C using the following sequence: double banjo hex, washer, 40- degree banjo from Line C, washer, 20-degree banjo from Line B, washer, caliper. Please see pictures 7 and 8 for reference. Thread single banjo bolt into left caliper, using two washers and 40-degree banjo. If applicable, locate rear Line D – this will travel from the rear master cylinder to the hard line for ABS. Thread the hard pipe into female end using a “olive” inversor, and attach bracket to swingarm as seen in picture 9 . Use the bolt from the holder for ABS hose, and sit our bracket on top of the OEM holder. Using the bolt from the OEM ABS hose holder in location shown in picture 10 , attach the c-clip on top of holder and tighten. Finally, thread 30-degree banjo in caliper using the following sequence: single banjo hex, washer, banjo, washer, caliper

In order for this warranty to remain in effect, this inspection and registration must take place within ten (10) days after transfer. Areasonable dealer imposed fee may be charged for the inspection. In no case will warranty be extended beyond the original period. EMISSIONS CONTROLSYSTEM WARRANTY Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. also warrants to the ultimate purchaser and each subsequent purchaser of each Yamaha motorcycle covered by this warranty with a displacement of 50cc or greater, that the vehicle is designed, built, and equipped so as to conform at the time of sale with all U.S. emissions standards applicable at the time of manufacture and that it is free from defects in materials and workmanship which would cause it not to meet these standards within the periods listed immediately below. Failures other than those resulting from defects in material or workmanship which arise solely as a result of owner abuse and/or lack of proper maintenance are not covered by this warranty.

Also remove the Remote Adjustable Pre-Load adjuster knob by removing the screw located in the center of the knob, then pull it straight off. n As you mount the shock, feed the Remote Adjustable Pre-Load adjuster through the opening behind where the horn was located on the left side of the bike – see figures 2 and 3. Do not loosen or attempt to rotate the line between the shock and the adjuster. n Reinstall the adjuster knob, and torque the screw to 50 in/lbs. (5.65 N-m). n Make sure the shock rebound adjustment is at the rear facing the left side of the motorcycle and the pressure valve is facing up. n Tighten shock bolts to the proper torque specifications (refer to your manual). n Mount the adjuster to the supplied mounting bracket using the supplied M6-1.0X8mm SHCS fasteners and torque them to 80-90 in/lbs (9-10 N-m). Then mount the bracket to the bike using the stock two drive-belt cover bolts – as shown in figure 4. n Using the supplied zip-ties, secure the hydraulic line away from any moving parts or heat sources. Reinstall horn. To adjust the ride height, simply turn the adjuster knob clockwise (looking at it from the back of the bike) to increase the height and counterclockwise to reduce it. See main instructions for procedure of achieving optimum ride height
